That all changes on her sixteenth birthday when her life comes crashing down around her. Her dream night turns into a nightmare when Jack is murdered right in front of her, and she’s kidnapped by his murderer, Carter Thomas, a big time drug and arms dealer.
After ten months of being with Carter, she’s found, but the experience has totally changed her. She’s no longer the happy-go-lucky girl that everyone used to know and love; she’s now cold, hard and suffers from night terrors. It appears that Carter broke not only her body, but her spirit too. A shadow of her former self, her slogan for life is now: ‘If you don’t care about anything, then you have nothing to lose’.
Carter is currently serving time for the murder of Jack, a conviction that Anna helped secure. But his retrial is coming up because some key evidence appears to have been tampered with. Unbeknown to Anna, death threats are being received by her father, the Senator. It appears that Carter is still interested in Anna and will stop at nothing to get her back.
Ashton Taylor is brought in to protect her. He’s a newly qualified SWAT agent, a bright spark, the agency’s new golden boy. He is assigned undercover, posing as her boyfriend. His job is to help her through college and keep her safe until the end of the trial in eight months’ time.
For three years she has been the broken, damaged girl, refusing to feel emotion or pain, but can Ashton help her rebuild her life and finally deal with the grief of losing her childhood sweetheart? Will he be the one to make her see that life is, in fact, worth living and that not all men will hurt her?
All the while, the shadow of the trial looms over the both of them, taunting them, reminding them that it isn’t over yet. After all, Carter Thomas will stop at nothing to be reunited with his ‘Princess’.”

Positively a successful start of 2014

cozy_club_ano3
I can definitely say I started the year in high spirits, with two romances of deferent series that made this past few absolutely enjoyable. Granted, I adore Robyn Carr and Samantha Young, completely different writing but remarkable just the same. So is no wonder that I was in ecstasy on January 7, 2014 with the release of Before Jamaica Lane. But last back up a little, since I started the year reading The Hero by Robyn Carr. Here are some thoughts.

The Hero 3 stars
Thunder Point Series by Robyn Carr
3 novels – The Wonderer, The Newcomer and The Hero. A release in March 1, 2014 of The Chance.

After reading all of Virgin River books, is easy to affirm that I had high hopes for this new series of Robin, but unfortunately I have to say that it started slow, boarding on boring actually, but being Robyn Carr I wasn’t discourage and kept going and it’s so good that I did because “The Hero” was well worth the wait, charming and infectious, the story takes us in a journey of discovery, courage and love, but with that big foot on reality, that makes Robin’s novels so special.

Happy New Year Robin, here for an even better one in The Chance 😉

17766752 4/5 stars
On Dublin Street Series by Samantha Young
3 novels – On Dublin Street, Down London Road, Before Jamaica Lane. A short store named Until Fountain and a release in June 3, 2014 of Fall From India Place.

Hold on to you knickers ladies, or panties for the mortals, the improbable happened, Samantha was once again able to reach perfection with Before Jamaica Lane, just as she did on the first novel with Joss and Braden. Now last be real, if you read On Dublin Street you’ll know what I mean, it wasn’t possible to think that new characters throw in the last book could reach the high standards of our bitchy Joss and man cave Braden, but Samantha Young manage that just right with the lovely Liv and handsome Nate. You’ll cry, laugh, throw a fit, but mainly you’ll fall in love, again and again, because that’s how it is with this series. Oh and last not forget to mention how sexy and steamy it all are.

So hand up for the fascinating Scotland and divine Samantha Young, that 2014 brings us many more from where all this came from 🙂

Nothing Left to Lose by Kirsty Moseley

Maybe I’m a little biased, since I love all Kirsty’s work, but once I heard Nothing Left to Lose was going to be issued, as Anna would say, I was so happy I could burst, having read it twice on Wattpad, I could not wait to get my hands on a copy, even if it’s just an ebook, so when I saw the chance to review it, I jumped at the opportunity and here we are, now let’s go to the point.

The first edition of Nothing Left to Lose by Kirsty Moseley with the beautiful cover by Mollie Wilson is finally here, after a long wait Kirsty’s fans can at last have Anna and Ashton back, and with readers from all over the word, we can have them on our shelves.

This book is not captivating because of a hot guy and a distressed girl, but through the connection that Kirsty provides us with her characters and background to the feelings that are shown in the story. Yes Anna is a troubled and insecure girl but she has good reason to be, and of course if you are a woman reader you will fall in love with the hot SWAT Agent Taylor, but it goes so beyond just looks descriptions, that I guarantee you’ll have Ashton withdrawal after you’ve finish the book.

If you have read this romance on Wattpad, you know what I mean, but make no mistake; you should purchase and read it again. Kirsty has reached a whole new level of writing on this edition, it´s absolutely great. Even though she took off some interesting scenes, which I won’t go in to details, the story is much more cohesive and put together that made me really impressed with the editing work done to the book.

For those of you who only know Kirsty by her public work, or never had the chance to read her books before, go ahead and dig in, you won’t be sorry. Nothing Left to Lose is a sexy adult romance, for +18 years old readers, due to strong and detailed sex and subject matter descriptions, it was previously uploaded on Wattpad and it surpassed 25 million reads before official publication. This book is in no way a light reading, but is worth every page, as we go on the journey with Anna and Ashton, you will find hearth breaking, loss and grief that will make you cry, but you´ll also be accompanied by unimaginable hope, beauty, laughter and love.

Can Ashton Taylor, a newly qualified SWAT agent, help her heal, or is he just not enough?”

The Lost Boys por Lilian Carmine

549219_545915852119143_401888058_n 5 stars

Agora se você for capaz me diga, qual o seu Lost Boy favorito? 😉

Sinopse

the lost boys The Lost Boys by Lilian Carmine
true love never dies…

Reading phenomenon on Wattpad, a social network free amateur writers and passionate readers, with over 33 million readers the story of Lilian Carmine called Lost Boys series, drew attention of Random House that decided to publish the trilogy in four different languages.

After much waiting, fans of the series were thrilled with the launch day which was yesterday October 24, 2013. The English and Italian first book version of the series is called The Lost Boys and now is available on amazon.com among other sites.

I don’t know where to start, or what facts approach, since seeing this story published with such prestige makes me so excited that my thoughts are everywhere. But I think the beginning will be more coherent.

At Christmas 2010 I got a tablet as a gift, and without quite knowing what to do or how to use, I started surfing the internet and came across the Canadian website Wattpad, I don’t remember exactly how it happened, but it was love at first sight, I did my registration and in minutes had thousands of totally free books available wherever I was. Off course among so many stories there is a lot of crap, but I had the good fortune to encounter The Lost Boys right away, this was one of the first novels I read on Wattpad app by then installed on my tablet. I was so fascinated with the story that I started reading the sequence in the series that was still in progress, had waited anxiously for the uploads of each chapter that Lilian made, to feed my addiction of Joey and Tristan, the protagonist couple of this novel full of fantasies and adventures.

The truth is that the brazilian Lilian Camine brings brilliance and creativity that engages the reader in a way we really feel like living those moments with the Lost Boys gang.

So, to the point, The Lost Boys tells the story of Joey, a heroine to be proud of, full of life, bold, sassy and a loose tongue, she easily makes us laugh and cry, and as she comes across a beautiful ghost wandering the cemetery near her new home, she finds herself seeking excuses to wander among tombs and tombstones. But even tough Tristan Halloway is charming, polite and so beautiful it will take your breath away, he is not the only guy in the saga. From Bad boy to comedian, the author gives us a taste of each of these personalities in The Lost Boys guys. Now if dare, you can tell me, what’s your favorite Lost Boy?

Synopses

“Fate has brought them together. But will it also keep them apart? Having moved to a strange town, seventeen-year-old Joey Gray is feeling a little lost, until she meets a cute, mysterious boy near her new home. But there’s a very good reason why Tristan Halloway is always to be found roaming in the local graveyard…Perfect for fans of Stephenie Meyer and Lauren Kate, The Lost Boys is a magical, romantic tale of girl meets ghost.”

Perdida por Carina Rissi

Perdida1 3 stars

Deixo aqui a dica “Perdida – Um Amor Que Ultrapassa As Barreiras do Tempo”.

Sinopse

want-to-kiss-you-now-badlyEasy by Tammara Webber

5 stars

In the New Adult genre I would say that Tammara Webber rocked with the story Easy. So much so that I had to go back to past posts and reviewing notes from a book or another.
Easy is the story of Jacqueline and her unique mysterious hero on a college campus.
The truth is I can’t say much about the story without putting my foot in my mouth and end up telling parts of the book that should not be told ahead of time. What I can say is that Tammara ties the story in a way that everything has its time, and when the pieces fit is simply charming. The book is so well written that I did not want to stop reading, and had to use late hour to satisfy my curiosity of each new chapter. Of course it was worth every minute, intriguing, surprising, sometimes frightening, but above all exciting.
So here is one more tip, I absolutely recommend Easy.

Synopses

“He watched her, but never knew her. Until thanks to a chance encounter, he became her savior…
The attraction between them was undeniable. Yet the past he’d worked so hard to overcome, and the future she’d put so much faith in, threatened to tear them apart.
Only together could they fight the pain and guilt, face the truth – and find the unexpected power of love.
A groundbreaking novel in the New Adult genre, Easy faces one girl’s struggle to regain the trust she’s lost, find the inner strength to fight back against an attacker, and accept the peace she finds in the arms of a secretive boy.”

Three Little Words by Susan Mallery

Three Little Words 5 stars

As I said before on my post Fool’s Gold Series by Susan Mallery this series is absolutely adorable.

I feel in love with Fool’s Gold series I while ago, but Three Little Words is definitely one of my favorites now, and the first one I rated 5 stars. You got love the Hendrix brothers Ford and Kent and their girls. That is a great deference between this story and the others; it has two simultaneous romances, with completely deferent character and personalities.
Check it out, seriously…

Synopse:

“Can first love turn into the real deal? Anything can happen in a sizzling new Fool’s Gold story from New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery.

Isabel Beebe thinks she’s cursed in the romance department. Her teenage crush, Ford Hendrix, ignored all her letters. Her husband left her for another…man. So Isabel has come home to dust off her passion for fashion and run the family bridal shop until her parents are ready to sell it. Then she’ll pursue her real dreams. At least, that’s the plan, until sexy, charming Ford returns and leaves her feeling fourteen all over again…..

Seeing Isabel all grown-up hits bodyguard trainer Ford like a sucker punch. Back when heartbreak made him join the military, her sweet letters kept him sane. Now he can’t take his eyes—or his lips—off her. The man who gave up on love has a reason to stay in Fool’s Gold forever—if three little words can convince Isabel to do the same.”
